Teen Spirit comes to Cork
Two recent performances at the INEC in Killarney attracted audiences totalling 3,000 people who enjoyed a lively show featuring hits from the 1950s to the present day.
Teen Spirit, described as a celebration of teen talent and Christian faith, is a project which involves a collaboration of teenage choirs from different parishes and schools. There are also solo performances on the day.
The production addresses faith issues for young people in a modern way through music, audiovisual reflections, drama and dance.
Those taking part are from Scoil Phobail Inbhear Scéine, Kenmare; Colaiste Íde, Dingle; Milltown Youth Choir; Intermediate Secondary School, Killorglin; Tarbert Comprehensive Secondary School, Colaiste na Sceilige, Caherciveen; Scoil Phobail Sliabh Luachra, Rathmore along with singers from Castleisland, Abbeyfeale and Moyross in Limerick.
The teenagers also have an input into selecting the songs which they deem appropriate for a family show and have an inspirational feel to them.
