Martin: Police killers are ‘psychopaths, not patriots’
As the Dáil agreed a motion to condemn the killing of the 25-year-old Catholic police officer, Sinn Féin leader Gerry Adams directly addressed those responsible, calling on them to stop the violence. He said Sinn Féin had offered to meet the group some time ago but they refused.
“I make the same offer again,” he said. “You have no right to attack anyone. That is clear from the overwhelming public rejection of the attack which killed Ronan Kerr. The people of this island demand that you stop.”
