Agency opens for models with Down Syndrome
The agency, I’m Able 2 Model, run in conjunction with 1st Option Model Management, will provide opportunities for people with Down Syndrome to be represented.
Opportunities are anticipated in photocalls, advertising, catalogues and catwalk shows — and models will receive the same fee as any other model.
Chief executive of the Down Syndrome Centre, Sheila Campbell said: “Ireland has one of the highest birth rates of people with Down Syndrome in Europe — one in 500 births approximately as opposed to one in 1,000 in countries such as the USA, Spain and Norway, and as such we have a relatively un-skewed population of people with this disability.”
Jules Fallon of 1st Option Model Management said: “We are very excited about this project and are looking forward to opening new doors and revenue streams for people with Down syndrome”.
