Man charged over mother-of-four’s death

A 19-YEAR-OLD man was last night charged in connection with the death of a 46-year-old woman near who was found stabbed to death in her isolated Co Mayo home on Wednesday.

Postmortem tests at Mayo General Hospital on Noreen Kelly-Eadon, 46, who was separated from her husband and lived at Derrynacrieve, Islandeady, Castlebar, showed that her injuries included stab wounds to her head.

The victim’s 16-year-old son raised the alarm around 1.40am on Wednesday. The woman’s body was found in her bedroom.
