Gardaí are to bring in a new system to deal with the estimated 120,000 non-executed warrants for the arrest and imprisonment of suspects.

A series of garda blunders culminated in a man murdering his own mother at a time when he should have been behind bars, according to a damning report from the Garda Síochána Ombudsman Commission (Gsoc).

A 19-YEAR-OLD man was last night charged in connection with the death of a 46-year-old woman near who was found stabbed to death in her isolated Co Mayo home on Wednesday.
