A TRIP to the Tipperary town of Cashel will be included on the Queen of England’s itinerary during her forthcoming visit to Ireland, if the local Town Council has its way.

Cashel’s Deputy Mayor, Maribel Wood, has proposed the council write to the British Embassy to invite Queen Elizabeth II to visit the ancient City of the Kings.

Speaking at this week’s council meeting, she said a royal visit would be a great way to promote the town.
