IRISH tourists jetting away to countries outside the EU are being blocked from taking more than €100 a day out of their accounts under tough new anti-fraud measures.

In a major crackdown on criminal gangs, AIB has implemented draconian defences to prevent their customers’ money from being stolen.

Under the move, anyone travelling to locations outside the EU has seen their daily ATM hole-in-the-wall transactions capped at just €100 — down from the previous rates of between €250 and €600.
