Eight motorists owe €69,000 in parking fines

WATERFORD City Council is taking steps to recoup parking fines of €69,000, owed by just eight people in the city.

The local authority last week announced that it would tow away any of eight vehicles belonging to those who had not displayed the appropriate parking tickets.

In recent years the same eight motorists, understood to be five men and three women, have been parking at will around the city and ignoring parking tickets.
