GAA and IFA join forces to tackle rural isolation

RURAL men are responding to a new drive by the GAA and the IFA to tackle social isolation.

Social events have been hosted by 93 GAA clubs since 2008, with a goal of 150 clubs signing up by the end of 2011.

The initiative came after a call from President Mary McAleese for rural men to engage in a suite of new social activities.
