GREENS told voters they are a good “each way bet” for the election as they would benefit either government or opposition.

Out-going Minister Eamon Ryan pleaded for the electorate not to turn its back on the party after its three and a half turbulent years in government.

Mr Ryan said the next Dáil would be enhanced by the Greens’ “distinctive” agenda and it would perform a vital role whether in coalition with Fine Gael, or on the opposition benches. The party is facing the prospect of all six of its Dáil TDs losing their seats as the Greens dip to just 1% in some opinion polls.
