MORE than 50,000 children and adults are facing hospital waiting list delays across the country, the highest rate ever recorded.

Figures confirmed in the HSE’s latest hospital performance statistics show a massive 50,582 people were the subject of public system treatment delays last December due to staff and resources shortages.

The level is 3,000 higher than the second most recent count, in November.
