NRA objection rejected

AN objection by the National Roads Authority (NRA) against the expansion of a nursing home in North Tipperary has been shot down.
NRA objection rejected

The NRA appealed a decision by the planning office of North Tipperary County Council to grant the owners of Patterson Nursing Home at Lismackin, Roscrea, permission to construct an extension to the rear of the home.

A total of 15 conditions were attached to the grant of planning last September to the owners Thomas and Betty Patterson, but the NRA decided to object on the grounds of safety.

Following an inspection, the planning appeals board’s own inspector recommended refusal of the plan.

The board took into account the fact there was already a nursing home on the site, the planning history of the site and the proposed acquisition of land for the additional sites as mitigating factors in the decision to overturn their own inspector’s recommendation.
