Flu-related deaths reach 18

THERE have been 18 flu-related deaths over the winter, with swine flu associated with the vast majority of mortalities, new figures show.

Two more flu-related deaths were reported to the Health Protection Surveillance Centre (HPSC) last week.

The number of flu-like illnesses continues to decline, though at a slow rate, according to the HPSC.
