GREEN leader John Gormley has admitted that he and his party colleagues are fighting for the last seat in the key constituencies they’re targeting.

After an immensely difficult spell in Government, in which the Greens failed to get several of their key objectives achieved, Mr Gormley acknowledged yesterday that the party was facing an uphill battle.

“Yes, this will be a very tough election for the Green Party’s candidates,” he said. “But we have shown ourselves over 30 years of existence to be very resilient and very determined people. We’ve never shirked a challenge and we’re not shirking anything now.”
