Fine Gael borrow Labour slogans in hope of creating ‘Kenny Tide’
The slogan “Let’s Get Ireland Working” over the image of Enda Kenny in the forefront and out of focus faces in the background was eerily reminiscent of the “Let’s Make Ireland Work” posters that swept Labour to the ‘Spring Tide’ victory back in 1992.
Back then, unemployment was at 15% and the need to create jobs and bring about a fairer and cleaner political system was at the centre of the campaign by Dick Spring and his Labour Party.
