TRUST in government has fallen to an all-time low, according to a new global trust survey.

The Edelman Trust Barometer shows Ireland in last place of 23 countries surveyed when it comes to a nation’s trust in government, media, business and non- governmental organisations (NGOs).

Trust in the system of government here has plummeted to just 20%, the lowest of all 23 countries surveyed; the average across the 23 countries is 52%.
