MEMBERS of Nenagh Town Council in Co Tipperary have disagreed over whether or not they should continue funding a public toilet in the town.

The public convenience beside Nenagh Town Hall is costing the council around €34,000 a year to operate and maintain, a sum described as an “incredible waste of money” by town mayor Seamus Morris.

He said the council was making, at most, about €1,000 from the facility. He suggested the council should discontinued operating the facility.
