Cork baby stuns doctors after coming off ventilator

IN a remarkable turnaround, a baby boy who sustained serious head injuries has started breathing on his own.

The twin boy, who was on a ventilator in a Dublin hospital, shocked medical staff when he began to breathe independently when the ventilator was turned off.

His three-month-old twin brother remains in a stable condition in a Cork hospital.
