DPP file on twin babies’ head injuries

GARDAÍ are preparing a file for the DPP following the hospitalisation of twin baby boys with head injuries more than a week ago.

The three-month-old infants were admitted separately to Cork University Hospital (CUH) on January 9 last — the first child was brought to the hospital in the early hours of the morning and the second at around noon.

One infant was subsequently transferred to Temple St Children’s Hospital in Dublin where he is understood to be on a ventilator after suffering a bleed to the brain. He also suffered multiple rib fractures. His condition is understood to be critical.
