A FINE GAEL councillor nominated by his party as the next mayor of Limerick, claimed yesterday he was being targeted by vandals over his strong stand against crime.

Cllr Jim Long, whose electoral area includes Ballinacurra Weston, said his car had been attacked on four occasions in the past 12 months.

In the latest attack in recent days, personal files were taken. Gardaí informed him the vehicle had been wiped clean of any fingerprints.
