Climber airlifted off mountain

A CLIMBER has been rescued by the coastguard helicopter off the Slieve Mish mountain range outside Tralee in Co Kerry yesterday afternoon.

The man was airlifted to Kerry Airport shortly before 4pm by the helicopter from Shannon.

He contacted the emergency services complaining of exhaustion after he had set out alone from Curraheen, near Tralee. The climber was not injured.
