Sled survivor says farewell to best friend

THE best friend of the teenager killed in a sledding accident in Cork at the weekend attended her funeral Mass in a wheelchair yesterday.

Chelsea Noonan was seriously injured in the accident which claimed the life of Aoife Downey, 15, on Saturday.

They were among a group of four travelling on a home-made sled which ploughed into a tree. Aoife died in Cork University Hospital (CUH) later from serious head injuries.
