Dentist’s indecent assault ruling overturned

A DENTIST who opened all the buttons on his assistant’s tunic to check the quality of the material had his indecent assault conviction dismissed on appeal yesterday.

John Tait, aged 58, of Glen House, Upper Rochestown, Cork, was acquitted by Judge Seán Ó Donnabháin at Cork Circuit Appeals Court.

“I have given this case very careful consideration. It appears to me, particularly in view of Ms (Katarzyna) Kisinska’s evidence that the accused has raised sufficient doubt for me as a juror to give him the benefit of the doubt and I acquit the accused,” Judge Ó Donnabháin said.
