CLARE county manager Tom Coughlan has warned further reductions in numbers employed by the local authority must be achieved in the short term, despite staff already being trimmed by 150.

He said additional staff cuts “will require a review of structures and levels of service delivery to achieve even greater efficiencies and economies”.

The county manager delivered his warning in the council’s draft budget document circulated to councillors, ahead of today’s annual budget meeting.
