Gardaí: Men may have been on criminal mission before they died

GARDAÍ believe two men who died and a third who was injured in a single car accident near Adare on Tuesday night may have been on a criminal mission at the time.

An imitation gun, balaclavas and other implements were found in the stolen BMW which hit a tree at Croagh on the N21 between Adare and Rathkeale.

The man who survived the crash has served a jail sentence for his role in a murder carried out by the McCarthy Dundon gang.
