New bus compensation right

EU member states and the European Parliament have agreed to new compensation rights for bus and coach passengers.

New bus compensation right

The legislation must be formally passed by the parliament in February and will come into force within two years. It will apply to people travelling more than 250km by bus and will ensure compensation for death or injury. It will provide up to €1,200 for a piece of lost luggage. Also, disabled people must not be refused transport, except for safety reasons.

Companies will be exempted in cases of extreme weather.
