Irish Sports Council ‘realistic’ about budget cuts

THE Irish Sports Council is “realistic” about losing sports programmes due to budget cuts but hopes the Government will continue to recognise the economic contribution sport makes to the country.

“There’s an air of realism in sports circles,” said ISC sources.

“It’s been very clearly signalled in the four-year plan that sport will lose €3 million in funding.
