Absent workers risk loss of pay

WORKERS unable to attend work because of the weather are not legally entitled to be paid by their employers, according to the National Employment Rights Authority (NERA).

The authority points out that any alternative arrangement is a matter for agreement between both sides.

Taking unpaid leave to cover an unforeseen absence is also a matter for agreement.
