THE body of a young man was kept in the boot of a car parked in a residential part of the Turner’s Cross area of Cork city for four days before being driven to a field in Kerry, the man accused of murdering him said yesterday.

John Paul Walsh said he loved the deceased, John McManus, that he was his buddy and that it was only a stupid fight.

He said he might have thought of burying the body but couldn’t bring himself to do it and planned to leave it on a beach in Kerry to be found.
