LABOUR leader Eamon Gilmore has done a U-turn on whether cuts made in next month’s budget would be reversed by his party if returned to government.

Earlier this month, Mr Gilmore said his party would not reverse cuts it disagreed with because the country was in a “very difficult financial situation” and the “politics of promises is over”.

But quizzed on the matter yesterday Mr Gilmore changed his stance and said Labour would reverse some cuts.
