UP to 300 third-level students marched through Limerick yesterday to protest at the proposed hike in registration fees.

Traffic was diverted and up to 20 gardaí escorted the students who handed in a petition at the Henry Street offices of Minister of State Peter Power.

The protest passed off peacefully.
