And, at half-time, the west Limerick schoolboy will team up with the High Kings to belt out his CD hit rendition of Whiskey in the Jar.

His mum, Joanne said: “He’s over the moon with delight and his school, St Mary’s Boys Primary in Abbeyfeale, have organised a bus to take his classmates in second and third classes to see the game – and see him sing.

“The fact all his school friends are going has made the occasion for him.”

The eight-year-old became a national star after he sang Whiskey in the Jar with the High Kings on the RTÉ hit show last month.

“Adam loves the High Kings ever since he first saw them at the INEC in Killarney three years ago. Somebody in Temple Street hospital recorded the song, to put it on a CD to raise money for the hospital when he was having treatment there.

“My husband Denis contacted the High Kings and, after they heard it, suggested they record Whiskey in the Jar with Adam. It’s sold thousands already and all the money will go to Temple Street and Crumlin Children’s Hospital.”

Munster rugby management contacted Adam’s parents after they heard he was a great fan of Paul O’Connell’s.

Joanne said: “They have sent him on all the gear and he has to be at the grounds early to do some rehearsals with the High Kings.

“Adam is all excited about walking out onto the field in the Munster jersey with the team.”
