Man in naked pictures sting

A DONEGAL man who sent naked pictures of himself to a US police detective thinking it was a 12-year-old girl is facing deportation after being found guilty of attempted sexual assault.

Aengus Richard Downey, originally from Burt in Donegal but living in New Jersey for a number of years, was caught in a sting operation and convicted of endangering the welfare of a child.

He was remanded in custody and could face up to 10 years in prison.
