Watchdog raps ads that mislead

A NUMBER of leading companies, including Tesco, O2 and Hyundai, have been reprimanded by the advertising watchdogs over misleading advertising.

Overall, the Advertising Standards Authority of Ireland (ASAI) found 22 out of 26 cases referred to its complaints committee were in breach of the ASAI’s code of practice.

Supermarket giant Tesco was criticised for advertising a DVD box set in a promotional brochure, which it claimed could be found in the majority of Tesco stores.
