Text message threat to ‘slice’ former partner

A SUSPENDED jail sentence was imposed yesterday on a man who sent a text message to his former partner threatening he would slice her from ear to ear.

In a later incident he struck her twice in the face.

Sentencing of Brian Murphy, 20, of 190 Knockpogue Avenue, Cork, was adjourned a number of times at Cork District Court for progress reports on Murphy in an alcohol rehabilitation programme.
