2,000 people on waiting list for MABS help

MORE than 2,000 people are on waiting lists around the country for a first appointment with the Money Advice and Budgeting Service (MABS).

Figures showing waiting times and numbers at September 30 reveal the pressure MABS is under to deal with the masses of people seeking advice.

In some areas, the average waiting time for a first appointment is two months or more.
