UNIVERSITY of Limerick has been ordered to find a way of recovering money it paid to its former acting president John O’Connor.

University told to recover pay

The Department of Education said Mr O’Connor should only have been entitled to the salary scale of a president while he was acting in that role on a part-time basis.

When he reverted to his original role, once the university installed a full-time president, his pay should have been cut.
