Call for dog micro-chip ID

ICSA sheep chairman Mervyn Sunderland has reiterated calls for compulsory micro-chipping of dogs as a means of identification.

Mr Sunderland says the problem of dogs attacking sheep still exists. There are too many dogs in the possession of irresponsible owners who are not prepared to look after them properly, he said.

Micro-chipping means there is a possibility of ensuring that owners are held responsible for damage caused by attacks.
