Former GAA star and businessman friend die in drowning tragedy

A FORMER GAA star and a businessman lost their lives in a drowning tragedy near an offshore island at the weekend.

Former Mayo footballer Ger Feeney and his friend, Castlebar businessman Donal McElin, drowned in the harbour of Inishbofin, off the Co Galway coast.

Two investigations are under way into the double tragedy which has stunned the island and the Mayo communities where they were from.
