Bertie’s cupboard antics ‘terrible’ for the country

THE appearance of Bertie Ahern hiding in a cupboard for a News of the World advert has been described by his political peers as terrible for the country.

The former taoiseach was filmed tucked in a cupboard drinking a cup of tea to peddle his sports column in the Sunday newspaper.

However, former finance minster and the Labour Party’s education spokesman, Ruairi Quinn, said the appearance of a former taoiseach in such a setting was wrong.
