Cork’s English Market gets security system

A CCTV system went live in one of the country’s oldest markets yesterday as part of a security initiative.

Gardaí too have pledged to step-up high visibility patrols through Cork’s historic English Market as part of a coordinated effort to create an even safer environment for traders and shoppers.

The high resolution digital cameras were installed in the 200-year-old market recently following the discovery by alert traders of suspicious activity.
