TONIGHT’S People of the Year Awards screened on RTÉ 1 at 10pm include two new categories rewarding the Garda of the Year and Inspiring Mum of the Year.

Celebrating their 36th anniversary in 2010, the Awards provide an opportunity for the Irish public to honour outstanding contributions made by individuals and organisations to life in Ireland.

RTÉ presenter Gráinne Seoige will host the QUINN-healthcare sponsored show for the fourth year running.
