RYANAIR could find itself in hot water after one of its jets was forced to descend from 37,000 feet and divert to an airport in Germany after a woman was scalded in an onboard accident.

The airline has refused to comment on the incident which involved flight FR9628, which had departed Liverpool Airport at 2.35pm on Tuesday en route to Poznan in Poland.

The Boeing 737-800 jet had reached its cruising altitude of 37,000 and was flying over Amsterdam at around 4.40pm when the woman sustained serious burns.
