Dahl’s widow to attend Wexford Festival Opera for premiere

ROALD DAHL’S widow will travel to Wexford for the premiere of an opera based on one of her husband’s best-loved books.

The Golden Ticket, inspired by Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, will make its European debut in the town in October.

Organisers have revealed that guest of honour at the opening night, part of thefortnight-long Wexford Festival Opera, will be Dahl’s wife, Felicity.

The opera, which premiered in the US in June, was commissioned by Mrs Dahl, the American Lyric Theatre and artistic director Lawrence Edelson.
