Tiers of joy at Cork wedding

ACRES of yellow and white silk brightened a cloudy day in Cork as a young local couple tied the knot in true Hollywood style – the highlight of which, quite literally, was a 31-tier wedding cake.

The 17-year-old bride and groom enjoyed a day to remember in Gurranabraher as some 200 guests helped to celebrate their colourful fairytale wedding.

The bride, Catherine Casey, arrived in one of two white stretch Humvee limousines in an extravagant white wedding dress and train, accompanied by 12 bridesmaids in striking yellow gowns and huge bouquets of matching roses.
