IF fans of U2 still haven’t found what they are looking for, they could do worse than trying to get their hands on the car that ferried the band to their gigs before they hit the big time.

Among the contents of a 700-lot sale at Kerry Auction Rooms in Tralee is a 1985 4.2 litre Daimler Sovereign previously owned by Principal Management, the company which manage U2.

Used by the band’s management just before Bono and the rest of the lads achieved global domination, the car is sure to be the Sweetest Thing to enthusiasts of U2 memorabilia, particularly since so few of their possessions come on the market.
