Crowd scatters as king dethroned for another year
For three days the town of Killorglin, Co Kerry, was packed with visitors from all corners of the globe, and for three nights the merriment continued well into the early hours as festival-goers took full advantage of the extended pub times.
Saint Swithin’s prediction of 40 days of rain was thankfully proved wrong as barely a drop fell to dampen the spirits of those who had come for a taste of the legendary festival.
