Gardaí probe third Cliffs of Moher death

The body of a man was taken from the water at the cliffs at lunchtime on Saturday. The alarm was raised at 12.45pm when a member of the Doolin unit of the Irish Coast Guard (ICG) spotted a body in the water 650 feet below the main viewing platform at the popular attraction.

The body was later recovered by Doolin ICG volunteers about 150 metres from the shoreline. The remains were removed by rescue boat to the ICG base at Doolin Pier before being taken to the Mid-Western Regional Hospital in Limerick where a postmortem examination was conducted yesterday.
