Journalist Con Houlihan honoured for his inspirational life work

JOURNALIST Con Houlihan, long considered one of this country’s finest sports writers, has won an inaugural all-Ireland Inspirational Life Award.

Picking up the accolade on Con’s behalf, his friend Pat O’Mahony described him as an “intellectual powerhouse” and “a liberal by disposition”.

Chosen by a panel of judges from organisations working with the elderly, Con was given the award in recognition of his inspirational life work that spans a 62-year career in journalism.
