Rebels wait: New FG frontbench will be announced late next week

FINE GAEL rebels will have to wait until the end of next week before finding out if they will be re-appointed to the frontbench following last week’s failed leadership heave.

A reshuffle of the shadow cabinet will take place “towards the latter half of next week” according to party leader Enda Kenny, who said “people need time and space to consider the implications of all of this and I intend to give that to people.”

Mr Kenny admitted he has not yet spoken to his former finance spokesperson, Richard Bruton, who attempted to stage a coup against him last week.
